Ernest is a keen runner and when he runs on the track he is focused, displays stamina, endurance and good technique.
The attributes that Ernest brings to his running are similar to those that he brings to the practice of family law. Ernest is unwavering in his commitment to helping people when they have suffered the breakdown of a relationship, and he also uses his technique and skill to keep everything moving towards the finish line.
Ernest’s strong form as a lawyer stems from having completed a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Queensland University of Technology. He is admitted to practise as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia and is a member of the Queensland Law Society and Family Law Practitioners Association.
Recent matters that Ernest has been involved with are varied and include:
- A complex parenting matter concerning issues of parental incapacity due to mental health, alcohol use and drug use.
- A domestic violence matter between a husband and wife resulting in the making of a Protection Order in favour of our client.
- A parenting and property matter which was fully resolved through mediation within 3 months of separation.
As to activities aside from running and of a more stationary nature, Ernest can often be found deep in a good novel or two and he is convinced that Malazan is one of the greatest series of books to ever have been published.
