CAROLYN DEVRIES

Carolyn Devries is our CEO.

Carolyn holds Bachelor Degrees in Law and Commerce and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Wollongong University. She has also completed a Masters in Human Services specialising in the management of non-profit organisations.

Carolyn is admitted as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of Queensland, the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia. She is currently a member of the Queensland Law Society and the Family Law Practitioners Association.

Since being admitted as a lawyer in 2002, Carolyn has practiced as a family lawyer and estate lawyer and has extensive experience in these areas.

In 2012, Carolyn was announced the winner of the White Pages Community and Government category of the Queensland Telstra Business Women’s Awards.

 

 

ANDREW MORRISON

Andrew Morrison is the Managing Lawyer of our Corinda office.

Andrew graduated from the Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Laws in 1996, and he is currently undertaking a Masters of Applied Law, specialising in Family Law.

Andrew is admitted as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia, and is a current member of the Queensland Law Society, the Family Law Practitioners Association and the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia.

During his career Andrew has worked in a number of Brisbane law firms and has practiced predominantly as a family lawyer and estate lawyer.

Outside of the office Andrew regularly volunteers with community organisations including Meals on Wheels and Volunteers for Refugees.

 

 

JENNIFER CLARIDGE

Jenny Claridge is the Managing Lawyer of our Capalaba office.

Jenny commenced studying law as a mature age student in 2001 through the Southern Cross University in Lismore and was subsequently admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland as a lawyer. She is currently a member of the Queensland Law Society.

Jenny has previous employment experience in the public sector and the private sector.

Since qualifying as a lawyer, Jenny has worked exclusively as a family lawyer and estate lawyer.

Jenny is based at our Capalaba office.

 

 

LEIGH MILES

Leigh Miles forms part of our team of lawyers.

Leigh began volunteering at New Way Lawyers in 2009 as a law clerk, providing general support to our family lawyers.

Leigh graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Laws in 2010. He was subsequently admitted as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of Queensland. He is currently a member of the Queensland Law Society.

For the duration of his professional career Leigh has worked at New Way Lawyers and has practiced exclusively as a family lawyer and estate lawyer.

Leigh is based at our Corinda office.

 

 

CAROL BRIERLEY

Carol Brierley is one of our lawyers.

Carol graduated from the Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Laws. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours), a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and a RSA Diploma. Currently, Carol is studying a Master of Applied Laws specialising in Wills and Estates.

Carol is admitted as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia and is a member of the Queensland Law Society.

Since being admitted as a lawyer, Carol has practiced in the areas of family law and estate law.

Carol is based at our Corinda office.

 

 

PHILLIPA JACOMB

Phillipa Jacomb is one of our lawyers.

Phillipa graduated from the University of Canberra with a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Bachelor of Laws in 2007. She was subsequently admitted as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory and the Supreme Court of Queensland.

Prior to joining New Way Lawyers Phillipa worked as an Associate to Justice Refshauge in the ACT Supreme Court and subsequently helped establish administrative processes for the newly formed ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal (ACAT). Phillipa also worked in various Queensland Government Departments including the Department of Public Works and the Department of Justice and Attorney General.

Since joining New Way Lawyers Phillipa has practiced exclusively as a family lawyer and estate lawyer.

Phillipa is based at our Capalaba office.

 

 

WILFRED ZEE

Wilfred Zee forms part of our team of lawyers.

Wilfred graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce and subsequently completed his Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at The College of Law.

Wilfred was admitted to practice as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of Queensland in February 2010. He is also admitted to practice as a lawyer in the High Court of Australia and is a member of the Queensland Law Society and the Family Law Practitioners Association.

Wilfred has previous experience working in general legal practice but since 2011 he has practiced exclusively as a family lawyer.

Wilfred is based at our Corinda office.

 

 

HANNAH GLENNIE

Hannah Glennie is our Legal Secretary.

Hannah has extensive experience providing administrative support within a professional setting. She also has a unique understanding of supporting a professional legal team having completed a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland.

Hannah is based at our Corinda office and is the friendly face at reception or the friendly voice on the telephone when clients make contact with our Corinda office.

 

 

GLENDA LAWSON

Glenda Lawson is our Legal Secretary.

Glenda has considerable experience working as a Legal Secretary. Prior to joining the New Way Lawyers team she worked for a number of different Brisbane law firms.

Glenda is also a qualified Commissioner for Declarations and she is able to witness documents for members of the public as part of the JP Service that operates from our Corinda office.

 

 

CASSANDRA WAGSTAFF

Cassandra Wagstaff is our Legal Secretary and Accounts Clerk.

Cassie brings a wealth of experience to the role, having completed a Certificate II in Business Administration. She has also recently qualified as a Justice of the Peace.

Cassie joined the New Way Lawyers team in 2013 and is based at our Capalaba office. She is the first point of call when clients make contact with our Capalaba office or when members of the public visit the office to make use of our JP Service and have their documents witnessed.

 

 

JESSICA MCKENDRY

Jessica McKendry is our Accounts Clerk.

Jessica has completed a Certificate IV in Business Administration. In addition to her formal qualification Jessica has diverse practical experience, having previously worked in a number of different roles, including working in the office of a Federal Senator.

Jessica has been part of the New Way Lawyers team since 2009 and is based at our Corinda office. As a qualified Commissioner for Declarations, Jessica also provides document witnessing services from our Corinda office as part of our JP Service.

 

 

YVONNE MARSHALL

Yvonne Marshall is our Administrative Support team member.

Yvonne recently completed a Certificate III in Business Administration. This complements her previous administrative experience working in a variety of different office settings.

Yvonne is also a qualified Commissioner for Declarations and she is able to witness document for members of the public as part of the JP Service that operates from our Corinda office.

 

 

AVRIL DONELLY (IN LOVING MEMORY)

Avril Donelly began her career as a lawyer later in life. At the age of 38 she returned to complete her Senior Certificate through the Oxley Secondary College. Avril then continued her studies, at the University of Queensland graduating with a Bachelor of Laws.

After brief periods with various government agencies and private law firms Avril found her true passion at New Way Lawyers working as a Family Lawyer.

Avril passed away on 22 October 2011, after a short illness, with her beloved family at her side. Avril will be sadly missed by everyone at New Way Lawyers.
