Separation & Divorce Lawyers
Separation and divorce is never an easy time for any family. New Way Lawyers are here to support you and your family through this difficult transition, to the other side and beyond. We pride ourselves on our client care and genuinely aim to create long-term and sustainable solutions to your legal disputes.
Separation vs Divorce
The reason we use the term ‘separation’ rather than divorce is because divorce itself – though never pleasant – is largely procedural and it is the separation phase that is usually the most difficult.
The divorce process is quite straightforward and entails the following steps, which we can look after for you:

Separation
Separation is when the relationship is understood to have ended on a final basis. This will usually although not always entail one party moving out of the family home.

Application
Once you and your partner have been separated for at least one year, you are able to apply to the Court for a divorce. A number of documents must be filed with the Courts and certain criteria satisfied, which we will guide you through.

Hearing
We will attend the hearing and represent you before Court, when necessary. If the Court is satisfied that the requirements are met, a Divorce Order will be granted.

Finalisation
One month after the Hearing, the Divorce Order will become effective and your divorce will be finalised. You may then remarry if you wish.
Happy clients
I very much appreciate the work that New Way did. Your firm was such a blessing to me at a really difficult time!
MT
A massive thank you for all the care packages you have sent over the last 12 months. It really helped and make me feel that I am not alone. Once again, Thank you so Much!
MV
My matter was a moral one rather than a legal one and I felt fully supported by New Way Lawyers throughout the entire process. I was never led to believe that we would be successful in achieving my desired outcome but I felt it was worth a small investment on my behalf to try. The letter written on my behalf was very persuasive and although we’d given it our best shot I fully expected our appeal to be rejected. Regardless of the outcome I was very grateful for the way my case was handled by New Way Lawyers. You can imagine my delight when I received advice that our appeal had been accepted. I’m very grateful for the assistance Phillipa, Joanne and your company have give me with this matter and I offer you my sincere thanks you for your help. I am very impressed with your business.
